We are saddened to announce Carl D. (Pops) Johnson, age 46, passed away unexpectedly on January 7th 2024 at home.
Carl was born on May 28th, 1977 to Terri and Larry Johnson in Milwaukee. Carl attended Pulaski high school in Milwaukee and graduated in 1996.
Carl worked in many fields, touching the hearts of everyone he met and making life long friendships along the way. Everywhere he went he gave everyone a smile and lifted their spirits. He loved to weld at Dawes Rigging and Crane as a manager, fixing machinery as a part of the Operators Union, Local 139, where he was second to none in his welding shop.
Carl’s favorite things to do outside of work, were spending time with his son Alex Johnson Sr. and grandson, Alex Johnson Jr., the rest of his family, friends and beloved dogs, Rufus and Scooby. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars and expanding his various collections.
He was preceded in death by his parents and adored family pet Killer Johnson.
His survivors include his sons, Alex (Karli) Johnson, Nicholas Timm, Dominic Pawlowski; his grandson Alex Johnson Jr. sister Stacy Johnson, and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his many unofficial children, who in his eyes were his sons and daughters.
Visitation will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons Greenridge Chapel, 4747 S. 60th St. in Greenfield, on Friday, January 26 from 4-7pm. We ask for visitors to bring copies of your own photos with Carl through the years. We will have a blank poster board, and tape available.
In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made in his name to your local pet shelters and rescue centers, as Carl was all about his dogs.
