Dorothy A. Fitzgerald (Nee Maki) of Franklin, WI found peace on Monday, January 21, 2019 surrounded by her family at the age of 90. Born Feb 6, 1928 in Ramsay, Michigan to Einar and Elli (Silvonen) Maki, she attended high school in Bessemer and moved to Kenosha, WI with her brothers and sisters in 1946. She worked as an assembler at Dor-O-Matic in Greendale for many years, was a member of the American Legion Auxilliary, and House of Prayer Lutheran Church. She will be dearly missed by her devoted husband of nearly 64 years, William “Bill” Fitzgerald; sons Richard (Erina), Michael (Mary) & Timothy (Martinique); four grandchildren Matthew (Melissa Galewski), Kevin (Luciana), Nicole, & Ryan; and great-granddaughter Rosalia. She is further survived by her sisters Ellie (the late Tauno) Jarvinen and Gloria (the late John) Kilponen; along with many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers William E. & John H. Maki. A private celebration of Dorothy’s life is being planned. Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral Home is serving the family.
