Zientek, Irene A. (nee Idzikowski) Born to eternal life Thursday, March 7, 2024. Age 97. Loving wife of the late Peter P. "Pete" for 61 years. Devoted mother of Kathleen (Cliff) Lingafelt, Pauline (Mark) Kemp, Roger (Donna) Zientek, the late Joseph Zientek, Mark (Lisa) Zientek, John (Susan) Zientek, the late Christine Zientek (Brian Tesar), Charlene Stefaniak, Colleen (Steve) Hammerer, Paul (Ana Maria) Zientek and Jeffrey (Antonella) Zientek. Dear sister of Rita (the late Casimir) Janiszewski and sister-in-law of Lucille (the late Alfred) Kozelek. Cherished granny of 25 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, many siblings, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation at Blessed Sacrament Church, 3100 S. 41st Street, Monday, March 18th, 9-10:45am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial at St. Adalbert Cemetery at 12:30pm, please meet at the cemetery entrance on 6th and Howard Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association, American Macular Degeneration Association or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Special thanks to the compassionate and caring staff at Elaine's Hope Memory Care - Ravenswood Wing and St. Croix Hospice.
Irene was a dedicated employee at the Boston Store for over ten years. She was a volunteer baker for the St. Vincent Society Meal Program and active member of the Blessed Sacrament Seniors. An avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Marquette Basketball, Badger Football, Milwaukee Bucks and a little Milwaukee Brewer Baseball (too slow). In her free time, she liked to play bingo, cards and knitting.
