Scerpella, Jaime R., MD 11-29-21 – 12-24-06 died peacefully and was welcomed into the arms of God surrounded by his family on Sunday December 24th. Born in the mountains of Peru in Jauja, the second of 11 children of Juan and Blanca , Jaime spent the first part of his life growing up in Lima, attending the University of San Marcos studying medicine. He earned an advanced degree in Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and was a Fellow of the Kellogg Foundation at the Lahey Clinic in Boston. It was there that he met Patricia Driscoll of Quincy Massachusetts who became his wife in 1954. They moved back to Lima where Jaime’s career flourished including his being named the Chief of Staff for the Hospital Obrero . In Lima his sons James, Daniel, and Patrick were born. The family moved to Detroit in 1962 where sons Mark and Matthew were born. After completing his requirements at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, the family moved to Wisconsin which became their permanent home. Jaime established a long standing surgical practice with the South Milwaukee Clinic and Trinity Memorial Hospital, later acting as a Medical Officer for the Veterans Administration at Wood before his retirement. Jaime is preceded in death by his parents Juan Scerpella Mansanares, and Blanca Villavicencio Scerpella and brother Ruben, He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Juan, Carlos, Roberto, Cesar, Jorge, Pedro, Marino, Berta, and Blanca. He will be missed by his loving wife Patricia, sons James, (Rebecca), Daniel, (Jill,) Patrick, (Tamara), Mark, and Matthew, (Amanda). He will also be missed by his grandchildren Michael, Daniel, Caitlin, Jamey, Christopher, John, Will, Marina, Colleen, Isabel, and Patrick. The Scerpella Family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Franciscan Villa in South Milwaukee for their care of Jaime in his final months. Visitation will be Thursday December 28th from 6 pm to 9 pm at Max A. Sass Mission Hills Chapel at 8910 W Drexel Avenue in Franklin. Funeral services begin Friday the 29th, 9:45 am at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 695 College Avenue South Milwaukee. MAX A.
