James Anthony David

David, James A. Age 80 years. Of Racine and formerly of Burlington. Passed away July 7, 2006. Born in Milwaukee on March 20, 1926 to Arthur C. and Celia David, he spent his early life in Milwaukee and North Lake, WI graduating from Boy’s Tech in 1944. James enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946 as an Electrician’s Mate, Second Class, repairing battle damaged vessels. On January 27, 1951, James married Ellen L. Marck in Waukesha. The couple lived in Menomonee Falls and Oostburg before moving to Burlington in 1959. He was a sales representative for National Laboratories, West Chemical Co. and Rochester Germicide before retiring in 1985. James was a former member and Past Master of the Burlington Masonic Lodge and the first Associate Guardian of Burlington’s Job’s Daughters Bethel. Retiring to their family vacation home at North Carolina’s Outer Banks in 1992, James enjoyed gardening, fishing and walking his dog, Sulty, along the beach. To keep active in retirement he spent several nights per week operating the “kiddy rides” at a local amusement park during the tourist season. James was also a former member of the Mateo, NC Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, four children, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday July 10, 2006 from 4 until 6 PM at the Max A. Sass & Sons Mission Hills Chapel on Hwy 36 and Drexel Ave. in Franklin with a funeral service at 6 PM. A Military Honor service will be held on Tuesday 11AM at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. Cremation is then planned with a private casting of ashes at the Outer Banks. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Wisconsin Masonic Home, Dousman, WI will be greatly appreciated.
