James H. Dassow

Dassow, James H. Age 75, of Silver Springs Lake, rural Neshkoro, WI passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2013. He was surrounded by family. Jim was born on December 11, 1937 in the town of Goodrich, WI, a son of Ervin and Lena (Kretschmer) Dassow. He attended local schools and was married to Rose Marie Schaefer on May 17, 1958. Jim had been employed as an operating engineer at Stoehr Grading, New Berlin Grading and Sunny Slope Grading, all in the Milwaukee area and was also member of Operating Engineers Local #139 of Pewaukee. A former longtime Muskego resident, Jim relocated to Neshkoro in 2004. He enjoyed travelling, camping, fishing and going to the casinos. He is survived by his wife Rose, his sons Michael (Judy Peters) Dassow, Thomas John (Cheryl) Dassow and a daughter Jean Birlingmair. He also leaves 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, his brothers Donald (Louise), Gary (Sharon) and Jerry "Butch" (Mary) Dassow, his sisters Janice (Dale) Breckenfeld, Carol (Robert) Hanke and Diane (Rick) Hempel. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law Judith and Agnes Dassow, other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Ervin, Jr., Glendon and Robert Dassow. Visitation in the Funeral Home on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 11 AM to 1 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM. Final rest, Rural Home Cemetery, Big Bend at a future date. Memorials are appreciated to the American Heart Association.
