Sisler, Jean M. (Nee: Berning) of Greenfield, WI was called to heaven on Thursday, March 12, 2015 surrounded by her loving family after a long struggle with COPD. She was 78 years old. Born on the family farm in Sinsinawa, WI on November 11, 1936 and preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Esther (nee Timmerman) Berning. Also preceded in death by her loving husband of 28 years, Roger W. Sisler. Dear mother of Steven C (Heather) Sisler of Clive, IA, Diane M. Sisler (Robert Hogan) of Waukesha, WI and Gregory P. (Lynn) Sisler of Greendale, WI. Proud grandmother of Megan (Oliver) Howes of Ankeny, IA; Heidi Sisler of Bowling Green, KY; Nicholas Sisler of Iowa City, IA; Laura and Julie Sisler of Clive IA Paul Sisler of Greendale, WI; Lucas Sisler of Milwaukee, WI and Jacob Sisler of Sevilla, Spain. Great grandmother of Edward Howes of Ankeny, IA. Jean was one of 7 children growing up on the family farm and homestead. The late Kenneth (Carol Pfohl-deceased) Berning; Robert (Kathleen) Berning; the late Ann (Greg-deceased) Wiest; the late Susan (Allan) Theill; Alice (Gary) Schmitt and Adele (Mark) Hendricks. Jean graduated from St. Clara Academy in Sinsinawa, WI in 1954. She spent the majority of her business career in the banking industry working primarily in the bookkeeping and audit sections of the banks, retiring after 50 fulfilling years. Jean lived life to the fullest! She enjoyed travel, theater, board and computer games, an avid reader and playing the one armed bandit now and again. Jean was an active member of the Wilson Park Travel Club and the Red Hat Damsels in Distress. Jean's most cherished activity was spending time with family. Anytime she had the opportunity to bring her family together for a meal or a celebration brought her great joy and left her with a smile and a happy heart. Memorial gathering/visitation at St. Mathias Catholic Church, 9306 W. Beloit Road, Milwaukee, WI, Monday, March 16, 2015, 12:00-3:00 PM. Rosary @ 2:00 PM followed by a Catholic Funeral Mass @ 3:00 PM. Private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Mathias Catholic Church or Wilson Park Senior Center.
