John Seastrand

John Seastrand Born to Eternal Life, August 10, 2022 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Anna (nee Hefter) Seastrand for 65 years. Loving father of Richard (Liz) Seastrand, Elizabeth (Jon) Smith, Judith (Mark) Bowen, Brith (Steve) Lijewski, David (Kathi) Seastrand, Michael (Cheryl) Seastrand, and Jacqueline (Luis) Vargas. Dear grandfather of Daniel and Emily Seastrand; Erik Smith and Lauren Paegelow; Ruth Rounds, Rebecca Flynn, Joanna Bowen, Kate Deyle, and Philip Bowen; Brad and Chris Lijewski; Kenneth Seastrand; Ericka O’Connor; Monica Hancock, Angela Thomas, and Luis E. Vargas. Great grandfather of Adeline Flynn and Olivia Rounds; Olivia and Griffin Seastrand; Owen and Maya Hancock; Keira and Brayden Thomas. Brother of Berit Amundsen. Preceded in death by parents, Jorgen and Bertha Sjostrand, and sister, Ester Hansen. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. John moved to America from his childhood home in Fevik, Norway when he was 20 years old. While still in Norway he completed two apprenticeships, one in carpentry and the other in welding. After his move to America, he chose to make a career out of welding, working for Orley Meyer, Inc. John and his wife, Ann, raised and settled their family in Greendale, WI. He and Ann became longstanding members of the Sons of Norway Fosselyngen Lodge #5 in Milwaukee, WI. Early in married life, John’s interests included a bit of hunting, fishing, and woodworking. Later on in life he continued his interest in woodworking, stained glass, gardening, and playing Sheepshead and other card games with relatives and friends. Visitation at OUR SHEPHARD LUTHERAN CHURCH (5901 Westway, Greendale, WI) on Friday August 26, 2022 from 1:30 PM until time of Service at 3 PM. Entombment Forest Home Cemetery.
