Judith Ann Bialk, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2024, in New Berlin, Wisconsin, at the age of 81. Born on May 6, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Family was the cornerstone of Judiths world. She was the beloved wife of the late Arnie Bialk, whom she was married to for 51 years, and a devoted mom to the late Michael Bialk. Laura (Dan) Kanitz, and Mary (Craig) Humphrey. Judith’s role as a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, and she embraced every moment with her grandchildren Noelle, Zachary and Joseph Kanitz, Joshua (Alyssa) Zastrow, Jenna (fiancé Mason) Zastrow, and as a great-grandmother to Levi Zastrow. Her loving presence will also be missed by her niece Sandra (Ron) Marchewka, along with many other family members and friends who were blessed to know her.
Judith’s early years were spent in the familiar surroundings of Milwaukee where she received her foundation in education at St. John Kanty, followed by her high school years at Pulaski High School. Her passion for learning and teaching blossomed at Alverno College, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Education. Furthering her expertise, Judith achieved certification as a Reading Clinician and Diagnostician form the National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois, and later a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies through St. Francis Seminary in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee in 1993.
Her professional journey was marked by a lifelong commitment to teaching, beginning with her role as an elementary teacher at Whittier Elementary School. Judith’s love for reading and her desire to share it led her to become a Reading Teacher at Alverno College in the Telesis institute. Her faith and dedication to service were evident in her role as Pastoral Associate at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, where she touched many lives with her guidance and compassion for 20+ years. In her retired years she loved volunteering, helping children develop a love for reading at Southwood Glen Elementary school in Franklin, WI.
Described as loving, selfless, and faith-filled, Judith’s legacy in one of gentle strength and profound influence. Her interests outside her professional and spiritual commitments brought joy to those around her. She loved to dance, falling in love with Arnie after their first dance together and dancing away the next 51 years.
Judith’s life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family, her faith, and the countless students she inspired throughout her decades long teaching career.
She will be deeply missed. Dance on mom and dad!
