Luebke, Linda PhD Passed away December 11, 2013 at age 62. Linda was the loving daughter of Rose Luebke, devoted mother of Quincy (Caitlin) and Ted (Hanine) Castro, sister of Pat (Kenneth Robinson), and cherished aunt of Andre, Katie and Tracy Robinson and Vicki Sieglaff. Also survived by dear cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and friends, too many to mention. Preceded in death by her father, Roy. A graduate of Marquette University (1972), Linda started her career as a nurse in Milwaukee before moving to Oakland, California. While in California, she returned to school to pursue studies of a lifelong passion, music. She received a master's degree from Holy Names College in Early Music. After moving to Seattle, WA she again returned to school to earn certification as an elementary music specialist, a position she held for sixteen years at Parkwood School in the Shoreline, WA School District. During this time she shared her expertise with numbers of aspiring music teachers and a new career was born. She attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA and earned a PhD in Leadership. Linda was most recently a professor of music education at Indiana State University, a job she loved and in which she profoundly influenced the preparation of aspiring music teachers at the university. Most of all, Linda loved life, loved to travel, loved to cook and entertain, loved her sons and her daughters in law, and loved her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all. A Celebration of Linda's life will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the MAX A SASS & SONS GREENRIDGE CHAPEL from 4 until 8 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the BASILICA OF SAINT JOSAPHAT, 2333 So. 6th Street at 10am. Inurnment to follow at Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wehr Nature Center, a place that Linda loved and visited every time she came to Milwaukee, are appreciated.
