Sandra A. Kellner, affectionately known as Sandy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2024, in Greenfield, Wisconsin, at the age of 66. Born on September 26, 1957, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Ronald and Beverly Thornell and raised by Kenneth and Elizabeth Schaefer.
Sandy attended Greenfield High School and graduated in 1975, laying the foundation for a future marked by dedication and service. She spent 35 fruitful years working for the City of Greenfield. She will be remembered by all who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Beyond her professional life, Sandy was a woman of many passions. Her love for card games was well-known, with Sheepshead being her absolute favorite. She could be found every Monday at Double D's, engaging in friendly competition and enjoying the camaraderie of the game. Sandy also had a fondness for cribbage and would seize any opportunity to play. Her love for music led her to numerous concerts.
Family was the cornerstone of Sandy's life. She cherished the time she spent with them, whether it was during family game nights or while traveling with her beloved husband, Mike. Their adventures together were sources of great happiness and created memories that will be treasured forever.
Sandy's selfless, generous, and loving nature was evident in every relationship she nurtured. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and warmth that deeply touched her family, including her children, Lisa (Jason) and Dylan, and her siblings, Glenn (Ruth) Lindert, Deborah (Hugh) Shaw, Cinda Hill, Ronnie (Laurie) Schlafer, Theresa (Tim) Jewell, and Brad Thornell. Sandy also held a special place in the hearts of her in-laws, Gregg Kellner and Lori Kellner-Dooley, as well as her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her passing is preceded by her husband of 33 years, Michael R. Kellner, whose companionship and love provided Sandy with immeasurable joy throughout their marriage.
Sandy's absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew her, yet her spirit will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched. Her enduring kindness, unwavering support, and the joy she brought to every gathering will remain as bright spots in the hearts of her loved ones.
