Verna E. (Ruehl) Miller, 89, of Brookfield. Born on August 8, 1934, in the heart of Hustisford, WI, Verna's early years in Beaver Dam, WI, laid the foundation for a life rich in education and service. It was at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where she met her beloved husband, Charles Miller, Jr. The two wed on June 22, 1957, and together they built a life in Cudahy filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories. Verna's love story with Charlie spanned the years until his passing, leaving her with a legacy of love that continued through her children and grandchildren.

A devoted mother, Verna's legacy is carried on by her children, Cindy (Doug) Haaning, Chuck (Lisa) Miller, and Cheri (Dan) Strobel. She took immense pride in her grandchildren, Mark, Brad, Max, Ava, Jack, Ella, and Abby, and was a constant presence at their extracurricular events. Her brother Ken Ruehl, in-laws Mary Miller, Shelly Miller, and Peter Pekar, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends, will also cherish her memory. Verna was preceded in death by her husband Charles Miller, her parents Roland and Hester (Grunske) Ruehl, her sister Betty (Perry) Woltman, and in-laws Marilyn Pekar, Ken Miller, and Fred Miller.

Verna's passion for education and her strong work ethic were evident in her 20-year tenure as a business education teacher at Oak Creek High School. Her drive to empower and inspire young minds was a testament to her intelligence and dedication. After enriching the lives of countless students, she turned her talents to the world of real estate, where she continued to make her mark as a Re-Max realtor for 25 years.

Her involvement with the Tri-Sigma Sorority and numerous women's groups showcased her commitment to community and her skill at fostering deep connections. Verna's love for playing bridge and her adventures with the "travel bunch" and her realtor friends spoke to her zest for life and her love of exploration. She traveled extensively, creating a tapestry of experiences that she shared with all who knew her.
