Virginia M. Helminski

August 25, 1925 — February 10, 2013

Helminski, Virginia M. (Nee Groszkiewicz) Was reunited with her loving husband, Henry S. and daughter Nancy Carol on Sunday, February 10, 2013. She is survived by her sons Henry B. (Bonnie) Helminski and Kenneth (Susi) Helminski, five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Her parents, Bernard and Barbara (Dykas) Groszkiewicz are welcoming her into their circle, as well as her brothers and sisters and their spouses, who have gone before to prepare a place for her along side them. During WWII, Virginia worked as "Rosie the Riveter" helping to build the Boeing Flying Fortresses when she lived with her husband in Seattle, but her service did not stop there. She worked tirelessly with the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Virginia was also a long time member of AmVets Post 60 and served in many positions with the organization and knitted and crocheted countless laprobes, caps and mittens for veterans and small children until almost the very end. Memorial visitation in the Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 10 AM to 12 noon. Funeral service at 12 noon. Interment will be in Wood National Cemetery.
