Ana Lopez-Weins

Ana Lydia López-Weins was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and raised in a loving Christian home.Her parents, Pastor Gilberto López and Missionary María Luisa Ruiz, instilled in her reverence for God, love for others, and a spirit of service—values she lived faithfully throughout her life.

Family was at the center of Annie’s life. She is survived by her devoted husband, Marc; her beloved son, Miguel Machado Jr. (Kay), and her cherished grandson, Helios. She also embraced Marc’s children—Marie (Jeff), Rachael, Karina, and Benjie—and their families, loving them as her own. Annie is also survived by her sisters, Carmen María, Luisa Esther, and Deborah; her brother, José Gilberto; and many nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sister-in-law, all of whom will remember her with deep love and gratitude.

Annie was a loving and caring person who cherished gathering with friends and family. She was known for keeping everyone close, celebrating life’s moments, and delighting those around her with thoughtful gifts, sweet treats, and home-cooked meals.

A faithful follower of Christ, Annie served actively in her church as a leader and played a key role in developing Hispanic ministries including Impacto, Las Amigas, and the Bilingual Sunday School at Discover Church. She also shared God’s Word as a Bible teacher, preacher, and conference speaker.

Annie earned the respect, love, and admiration of all who knew her. Her life was a living example of devotion, faith, and service, and her legacy will continue to inspire those she loved.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate nurses, doctors, and staff of the Aurora Zilber Family Hospice for their attentive care and kindness during Annie’s final days.

A Celebration of Life Service for Ana will be held at Discover Church (7311 S. 13th Street, Oak Creek) on Friday, November 7th starting at 3PM with a Potluck in the Commons to follow.
