Anthony “Tony” Vitrano, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on October 2, 1942, on the East Side of Milwaukee, Tony lived a life full of laughter, kindness, and devotion to family.
Tony attended Boys Tech High School and was recognized as a state champion gymnast.
Known for his quick wit and caring nature, Tony brought joy to everyone around him. He was an amazing grandfather to nine grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to two (and ¾) great-grandchildren, always ready with a joke, a helping hand, or a story that made everyone smile.
Tony dedicated much of his career as a skilled technician for the gas company and later shared his expertise and friendly spirit while working at Elliot’s Ace Hardware. His work ethic and willingness to help others were hallmarks of his character.
Tony is survived by his loving wife, Karalynn Vitrano; his children Tammy Johnson (Todd) and Andy (Arianne); his cherished grandchildren Alex Johnson (Colleen), Megan Westemeier (Max), Taylor Johnson, Joseph Vitrano (Fefe Jaber), Gabby Vitrano, Charlie Vitrano, Cassie Stern, Remy Vitrano, and Callie Vitrano; and his great-grandchildren Ella Westemeier and Zeke Johnson. He is also survived by brothers Charlie Vitrano (Karleen), and twins Johnny (Jean) & Jimmy (Barb) along with many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Lillian Vitrano, brother Phil Vitrano and sister Catheryn Gibbons (Bob).
We are very grateful for the wonderful and attentive care from the St. Croix team: Mandi, Kimberely, Chad, Jennifer, Sue, Victor & Cindy.
Above all, Tony cherished his family. His legacy of love, humor, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A visitation for Tony will be held at the MAX A. SASS & SONS MISSION HILLS CHAPEL (8910 W Drexel Ave., Franklin) on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM.
