Carol B. Genrich, of Greenfield, WI, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the home of her nephew in Port Washington, WI. She was born on July 5, 1929, to the late Paul and Hilma (Korpi) Wargowsky, in Milwaukee. Carol graduated from Milwaukee Hospital Nursing School and became a Registered Nurse. She later earned a bachelor’s degree and worked at the former Lutheran Hospital.
Carol was united in marriage to Gerald G. Genrich on May 5, 1951, he preceded her in death in October of 1989.
Carol was a Christian woman and faithful member of Jackson Park Lutheran Church. She took joy in making quilts with the church group until recently. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Carol traveled extensively and participated in square dancing in her earlier years.
She is survived by her daughters Bonnie (Richard) Dann, Nancy (David) Hayes, grandchildren Theresa (Bill) Osorto, Richard Dann, David (Serena) Hayes and Michael (Kristin) Hayes, great-grandchildren Milja, Olivia, Ash, Lucas, Ellen, Teddy and Oscar.
Carol was preceded in death by her sisters Mercedes “Joyce” (Louis) Khalaf, Paula “Lindy” (William) Applegarth as well as her special friend Mac Barnekow
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Jackson Park Lutheran Church. Special thank you to Aurora Hospice as well as Alex and Amy Khalaf for their compassionate care.
