Carolyn Marie Stoetzel

January 8, 1961 — August 19, 2025

Carolyn Marie Stoetzel, a beacon of warmth and joy, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, at the age of 64, surrounded by family. Born on January 8, 1961, Carolyn's life was a testament to love, family, and the simple pleasures that make life worth living.

Carolyn's journey began as the beloved daughter of Mary Ann and the late Ronald Welden, and she grew to become a cherished sister to Thomas (Rici) Welden, Julie (the late Pete) Krey, Ken (Kelly) Welden, and her brother-in-law, George Stoetzel. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter would later capture the heart of Duane Stoetzel, to whom she was a devoted wife for nearly 44 years. Together, they built a life filled with happiness and welcomed three wonderful children into the world: Jenny (Tom) Berres, Jason (Kelle) Stoetzel, and Jessica Stoetzel.

Carolyn’s family circle extended to her granddaughter Sammie (CJ) Guerrero, nieces and nephews—Matthew (Brittany Smith) Welden, Paige, Brooke, Bryce, and Chase "CJ" Welden—as well as her great-nephew, Lincoln. She cherished every moment spent with them. Her life was further enriched by her adored cats, Peanut and Lucy.

Carolyn's formative years were spent at Muskego High School, where she graduated in 1979. Her education laid the foundation for a life of curiosity and a love for history, which she passionately explored through her favorite pastime on ancestry.com. A true family woman, Carolyn's happiest moments were during family trips to Post Lake, where memories were made and laughter was shared.

Her zest for life was evident in her love of traveling, especially cherished trips with her mother, sisters, and daughter. She also found joy in fishing with her husband, Duane, in which they would spend countless hours surrounded by nature's beauty and each other.

Carolyn's legacy is one of love and dedication to those she held dear. She nurtured a home that was a haven of kindness and support, always putting the needs of her family above her own. Her ability to find joy in the everyday was a lesson in gratitude.

As we say goodbye to Carolyn, we celebrate the extraordinary life she led and the countless lives she touched with her generosity and spirit. She will be profoundly missed, yet her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Though she is no longer with us, the love she shared will remain a guiding light for generations to come.

A special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses in the SIC Unit at Froedtert Hospital of Milwaukee for all their efforts. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
