Cecelia “CC” M (Klein) Milisch 85, Greenfield, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Cecelia was a compassionate mother, sister, friend and caregiver. She and her identical twin were the second youngest of a family of eight. Born September 28, 1939, to Leo Sr. and Teresa Klein at the family farm near Dodge, North Dakota.
Cecelia graduated from Dodge High School in 1957, where she was on the cheer team and briefly attended Dickinson State University. In 1959 she married Edmund Schmidt and they had one daughter. They moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she worked at Eagle Knitting Mills and then Briggs and Stratton for many years, making many friends along the way. The marriage ended in divorce, and years later, she met the love of her life, Al Milisch. Cecelia and Al’s love of golf led them to Arkansas. When Al passed, she moved back to the Milwaukee area. She became a caregiver and was loved and trusted by many clients and their families. It was a true calling for her. Cecelia loved bowling, golf, cats, flowers and nature. She could often be found hiking the nature trails in Whitnall Park.
Cecelia is survived by her sisters, Genevieve Klein of Carpinteria, California and Rosemary (Alvin) Glaser of Bismarck, North Dakota. Also survived by her daughter Germain (James Stresing) Gresl, and step-daughter’s Jo Ellen (Peter) Bilgo and Barbara Gallun. Grandchildren Amanda (Nicholas Politte) Gresl, and Kelsey Gresl. Also, Al’s Grandchildren: Emily (Mike) Niemuth, Dan (Ashley) Gallun, Johnathan (Sabrina) Fitzsimmons and Ashley (Chris) Moe as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family waiting for her in heaven are her husband Al Milish, siblings, Anna (Jack) Kathrein, John (Rose) Klein, Leo Jr. (Alberta) Klein, Joe (Patricia) Klein, and her twin, Amelia (Pius) Schmalz. Also, Barbara’s late husband, Christopher Gallun.
Funeral service will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (5571 S Marilyn St, Milwaukee, WI 53221) on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your favorite charity in Cecelia's name.
