Celia M. Alvarado was born Celia M. Ortiz on May 26, 1928, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico. Celia passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the age of 98. Her long life was defined by resilience, hard work and an abiding love for her family.

Celia's early years were spent in the colorful embrace of her Puerto Rican homeland, growing up surrounded by her parents and the last sibling of nine, all of whom preceded her in death. Driven by a sense of determination and hope, Celia and her husband Euripedes Alvarado moved to the United States in the 1950s, seeking opportunity and setting the foundation for a bright future for their family.

Celia established a career outside the home. She proudly worked as a lab assistant and translator at a Children's Hospital, where her compassion touched many lives. She helped bridge the language barriers between staff and patients and was respected by her peers. She loved the diversity of people she met at the hospital.

Celia possessed a talent for creating joy through her hands and heart. Her gardens bloomed with careful cultivation, and her home was filled with the comforting aromas of her home cooked meals. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, needlepoint, and embroidery. Celia's family was always at the center of her life. She was married to Euripides Alvarado until his passing in February of 1993, and together they built a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her children Thomas Alvarado, Adalia Alvarado, and Nancy Alvarado, who will forever cherish her gentle wisdom and steadfast support. Her spirit also lives on through her grandchildren: Brandon, Selena, Alexandra, Andrew, Jon Chris, Elizabeth, Jessie, Anthony, Christopher, Sandy Ann, and Lisa. Celia now joins in eternal rest not only with her beloved husband Euripides but also her cherished children, Euripides Alvarado - Ortiz, Enaida Alvarado, and Liduvina Alvarado.

The immeasurable impact of Celia’s generosity, warmth, and tireless care will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her legacy is one of perseverance, devotion, and quiet accomplishment.
