Charles D. Gritzmacher, of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, passed away at the age of 75 on October 19, 2026, in Milwaukee. He was born on September 2, 1957, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
Charlie was raised in Rhinelander, Wisconsin and attended Rhinelander High School. He served in US Army during the Vietnam War. After returning, Charlie relocated to Milwaukee.
Charlie will be remembered for his big personality and love for hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and his dog, Shadow.
Charlie will be remembered with love by his family and by those who knew him. He is survived by his beloved mother-in-law, Patricia Zwaga; his brother, Mark Gritzmacher; niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dawn Gritzmacher, and his daughter, Melanie Melissa Gritzmacher; and parents Willis and Gertrude Gritzmacher. May the memory of those he loved so deeply remain a lasting comfort to all who carry them in their hearts.
A graveside service will be held on October 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Wood National Cemetery, 5000 West National Avenue, West Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53214. The service will include prayers for Charlie and Dawn and a military honors ceremony.
