Christine Niemiec, affectionately known as "Sassy," passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, in Florence, Wisconsin. Born on October 25, 1949, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Christine lived a life that was vibrant, loving, and filled with joy, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and cherished memories.
A proud graduate of St. Mary's Academy, Christine embraced life with an adventurous spirit and a heart full of love. She was a true spitfire, always welcoming, fun-loving, and easygoing. Christine found immense joy in engaging with others—whether through her love for bowling, hosting lively social events, or entertaining friends and family at her beloved home up north. She had a special talent for making every occasion memorable, and her home was often a hub of laughter and connection.
Christine's greatest pride and accomplishment were her family. She shared 53 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Norman. Together, they created a warm and nurturing environment for their children. Christine was the proud mother of three: Andrew (Jennifer), whom she has joined in Heaven, Tony (Lynsey) and Steven (Heather). Her grandchildren — Allison, Jenna, Natalie, Lindy, Jackson, Logan, and Sofia — were a constant source of joy and inspiration for this devoted matriarch. Each one held a special place in her heart and was a testament to the love she poured into her family.
In addition to her immediate family, Christine's bonds extended to her siblings: Geraldine Axtman, Gloria (the late Ron) Bieniek, Michael Andraski, and Alex (Paula) Andraski. Together, they shared countless memories that shaped their lives with laughter and love.
Though Christine has departed from our midst, her vibrant spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her. She formed countless friendships, particularly in the Northwoods, where her laughter and hospitality touched many lives.
A visitation in her memory will be held on May 8, 2025, at St. James Catholic Church in Franklin, Wisconsin, from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate Christine's rich life, share stories, and honor the remarkable person she was.
Christine Niemiec was a unique soul whose light enriched our lives. As we say goodbye to our dear Sassy, we carry forward her love, her zest for life, and her unwavering belief in the importance of family. She will be missed dearly, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in all our hearts.
