Craig Walton, 61, passed away on June 24 2026, after a long and courageous health battle. A devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Craig will be remembered for his heart, steady hands, and lifelong love of cars, greyhounds, and the open road.

Born into the Walton family legacy of craftsmanship, Craig spent more than 45 years working on cars and motorcycles. He began by his father's side at Waltons Auto Body, the family business, where he learned not only the trade but the pride of doing things the right way. His passion for engines, bodywork, and the thrill of a well-tuned ride never faded and lives on through his son, who carries forward Craigs enduring quest for "a better car."

Craig found joy in riding his motorcycle with his wife, brothers-close friends who became family over the countless miles. He loved his greyhounds, whose gentle spirits matched his own, and he rarely missed a chance to watch a football game, especially when he could talk it over with his daughter afterwards.

Craig is survived by his loving wife Linda who was the love of his life and best friend. They met in 1999 and married on October 16, 2004 and enjoyed life to the fullest. Craig became sick in 2009 and continued to fight throughout the years with Linda by his side. The care and dedication Linda showed for him to try and get him better was an understatement of the love she had for him and him for her! 27 years was not long enough! Until we meet again my love!

Also survived by his sister Dana and her husband Shawn; his daughter Shannon and son Chad; his stepdaughter Tiffany and stepson Jesse; his granddaughters, Paris and Bentley; and his grandsons, Carter and Camden. His legacy also includes a wide circle of family and friends, colleagues, and riding companions who will feel his absence on every road they travel. He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Cindy Walton who welcomed him home.

A celebration of Craig’s life will be held Max Sass Funeral Home (4747 S 60th St), on Thursday, July 23rd, 4PM - 7PM. Anyone wishing to say any kind words or share stories about Craig are welcome to do so after a few words from Royce Bentz at 6 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations appreciated to Greyhounds of America https://www.gpa-wisconsin.org/

Craig’s life was defined by loyalty, hard work, and love—love for his family, for the friends who rode beside him, and for the machines he brought back to life. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
