Passed peacefully in his home on November 14, 2021 at age 89. Loving husband of Virginia for 67 years. Devoted father of Kathleen (Robert) Wenzel, Jennifer (Deb Faustmann) Miller and Andrew (Kileen) Miller. Cherished "Pops" of Cole (Morgan) Wenzel and Taylor (Dani) Wenzel. Adoring Great "Pops" of Rylan Wenzel. Fond brother in law of Cecile (Ray) Schwartz. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and friends. Dale retired from Milwaukee Public Schools in 1994 after 39 years as a teacher and guidance counselor. Dale had a true love for gardening. He was an accomplished woodworker and carver. He was a former athlete and avid sports fan. In 1950 he was the state broad jump champion. Dale loved his Dachshunds and Chloe will miss him dearly. Family and friends are welcome to gather at Blessed Sacrament Church on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 10-10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Wisconsin Humane Society. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to their neighbors for their kindness and support. They would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to Season's Hospice and Senior Helpers for the compassionate care they provided to Dale.
