Dannie Ruth Avers, née Bryant, was born on May 21, 1945, in the warm embrace of Savannah, Georgia. She departed this life on March 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and love that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

A caring soul from the start, Dannie’s generous spirit and feisty personality defined her in every chapter of her life. She found joy in the simple, yet profound pleasures—whether it was feeding her beloved squirrels or sitting peacefully on the back porch with a glass of tea, moments that brought her comfort and a special connection to the world around her. Her heart was as open as her porch; she was a woman who nurtured both family and community with unwavering devotion.

Her career at the Medical College of Wisconsin was marked by dedication and professionalism, earning her respect and admiration in her field. But if you asked Dannie what she cherished most, she would undoubtedly say it was her children and grandchildren—her proudest accomplishments. Their love and laughter were the true treasures of her life.

Dannie’s family remembers her as a beacon of warmth and generosity. She is survived by her devoted children, Don (Jenny Fromm) and Vickie (Michael) James, who carry forward her legacy of compassion and resilience. Her grandchildren—Braden and Matthew James and Madilyn Williams—were the light of her later years, bringing her immense joy. She was also deeply loved by her sisters Mozell Cresto and Gail Jaynes, who shared a bond that spanned a lifetime.

Though her presence will be profoundly missed, the memory of Dannie is enriched by those who preceded her: her beloved husband, Ken Avers; her son, Michael Sanford; and her siblings, Robbie Bryant, Evelyn Burnsed, and JB Bryant. Their love and memories remain intertwined with hers in the tapestry of family.

Services celebrating the life of Dannie Ruth Avers will be held on March 21, 2026, beginning at 11:30 a.m. with a Celebration of Life, followed by a Prayer Service at 1:00 p.m. Both events will take place at the Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral and Cremation Mission Hills Chapel, located at 8910 W. Drexel Avenue in Franklin, Wisconsin.

Through every shared moment and quiet afternoon on that back porch, Dannie taught those around her the strength of a generous heart and the vitality of a feisty spirit. As we gather to celebrate her life, we remember not only the years that marked her timeline but the love she so freely gave—a love that continues to nourish and inspire all who knew her.
