Darlene J. Olejniczak

August 2nd, 1939 - March 14th, 2026

Darlene J. Olejniczak, 86, was a woman of deep faith, creative spirit, and unwavering devotion. Born in Milwaukee on August 2nd, 1939, Darlene’s life was defined by the connections she built and the wonderful memories she brought to those around her.

Her greatest love story began when Lawrence “Larry” Olejniczak returned from the Navy. Darlene’s mother worked with Larry, who quickly recognized him as a "fine catch" and encouraged the two to date. This was the beginning of a partnership that spanned 64 years of marriage.

Professionally, Darlene spent most of her time in customer service and retired from Red Star Yeast after thirteen years. Retirement, however, was simply a new act for Darlene. A devout Catholic, she volunteered at her church in Live Oak, Florida. With a flair for the dramatic, Darlene and Larry later moved to Sun City West, Arizona, where she delighted audiences by directing plays and performing in musicals. She was known for her love of entertaining. Darlene and Larry enjoyed a monthly card club with friends. No time of year was more significant to her than Christmas; she poured her heart into making the season magical, creating cherished memories. After finally returning to Milwaukee, Darlene became a Brewers fan and enjoyed watching them play on television.

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Katherine Rausch, her three siblings, Edward Rausch II, Rosalie Kwiecinski, and Karen Micheals; and her beloved husband, Lawrence. She is survived by their daughter, Jane Schneider, and her husband, Jim; and three sons, Andy, his wife, Shelly; Alan, his husband, David Bourne; and James, and his wife, Wendy. Darlene was the proud grandmother of Belle, Olivia, and Jaydee, who lovingly called her “Mimi,” as well as her many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her generous niece, Jean Ellen Hanson, for her dedicated care and companionship during doctor’s visits, and to her dear friend Candy, her “partner in crime”, whose friendship at Brenwood Park was a source of great comfort.
