David A. Kaczynski passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 26, 1939 in Milwaukee, Dave was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, businessman, and civic leader. He leaves behind a great love for his family and legacy of service to the community.
Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary Jane (née Fluder); their three children: Sue (Shane) Frasher, John (Coral) Kaczynski, and Paul (Amy) Kaczynski; his brother, Bob Kaczynski; six grandchildren: Mark Kaczynski, Samuel Frasher, Anne (Simon) Gall, Michael (Kailey) Frasher, Emma Kaczynski, and Savanna Kaczynski; and three great-grandchildren: Addilyn, Ryker, and Emalyn Gall. He also leaves behind extended family and countless friends.
Inspired by his Catholic faith, Dave lived a life rooted in hard work, leadership, and a genuine commitment to the people around him. For more than 50 years, he ran a successful business as President and Owner of Cardinal Fabricating Corporation.
Dave demonstrated a steadfast devotion to his community. He proudly served the City of Greenfield as both Alderman and Mayor, giving generously of his time and vision. A true civic-minded man, Dave was an active member of the Rotary Club and the Kiwanis Club, served as a Board Member of Spring Bank, and was a longtime member of Tuckaway Country Club. Whether in public office or quiet acts of service, Dave believed in leaving his community better than he found it.
Dave and Mary Jane loved to travel. They spent winters in Palm Desert, California and recently in Fort Myers, Florida. Their summers were often spent in Northern Wisconsin. Dave’s hobbies included adding to his many collections, golfing, puzzling, playing cards, and cheering on his favorite Wisconsin sports teams.
Those who knew Dave will remember his leadership, his generosity, and his unwavering dedication to the people and places he held dear. His example will live on in the family he loved, and the community he served, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 9:00 - 11:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, located at 16000 W. National Avenue in New Berlin, Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dave’s name can be made to The Rotary Club of Mitchell Field.
