David H. Zimmerman, age 90, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, wrapped in love with his wife of 51 years at his side.
Born on July 28, 1935, in Osceola, Iowa, Dave lived a life marked by prayer, determination, vision, humor, generosity, and deep love for his family.
Known by many as “The King of Healthcare”, he built an extraordinary career in healthcare consulting, specializing in hospital revenue cycle and helping transform the industry through his expertise, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit. Guided by his famous motto, “Cash is King,” he founded a successful consulting and publishing company after the age of 50, proving it is never too late to build something remarkable. Later in life, he combined his business mind with his love for the Green Bay Packers by creating a Packers scrapbook company that brought joy to countless fans. Dave was an Emeritus Board Member of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. David was a member of the Catholic Prelature of Opus Dei, which helped form and nurture his great devotion to his Catholic faith.
But beyond the accomplishments and success, his greatest pride was always his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose strength, wisdom, work ethic, and unwavering presence shaped generations.
He is survived by Peggy (née Lund), his beloved wife of 51 years, and his 10 children; Julie (Doug) Manske and their children Christopher, Dave (Julianna), great-grandchildren, Jack, Julia, Jane, Emma, Abraham and Callaway; Jenny (Doug) Drljaca and their children Mike (Cari), Alex, Ben and Eli, great-grandchildren Sebastian and Tyler; Christy (Matt) Cool and their children Luke (fiancée Sheridan), Sean, Sam, Clare, and Nick; Mike (Bridget) and their children Paige, Drew, Jack and Liv; Steve (Tanya) Zimmerman and their children, the late Ava Marie and Anthony; Joe (Kim) Zimmerman and their children Bella, Lily, Ben and Maeve; Nellie (Derek) Foster and their children, Maddie, Brady, Teddy and Charlotte; Bill (Janelle) Zimmerman; Jane (Chad) Winchell and their children Eliot, Emily, Nora, John Luke, Watson and Bodhisattva; Meg Zimmerman and Dr. Stephen (Jan) Zimmerman and their children and grandchildren as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
