Evelyn A. Bednarek

Evelyn A. Bednarek, née Harenda, passed away on August 28, 2026, in Johnson Creek. She was born on May 24, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Evelyn will be remembered as an easygoing woman who went with the flow and brought a steady presence to those around her. She worked for many years as a clerk at Security Savings and Loan, where she gave her time and effort with dedication.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bednarek.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Bartels, and son-in-law, Robert Bartel, her loving son James Bednarek.. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jennifer Bartels, Steven Bartels (Rhyannon), and Aleigha Joers (Jonathan), as well as her great-grandchildren, Hazel, Ethan, Chase, Emma, Liam, and Elijah. Her family was a lasting and important part of her life, and her memory will continue to live on through each of them.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral and Cremation Oklahoma Chapel, 1515 W Oklahoma Ave, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53215. A vigil service will follow there at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1720 East Norwich Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53235. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Wood National Cemetery, 5000 West National Avenue, West Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53214.
