Faith “Fay” Richards, age 80, died at home early on Tuesday, May 12th, released at last from years of chronic illness. Many loved ones had kept vigil with her over Mother’s Day night, and thus were able to say their farewells together as a family.

Born in Waukesha, the eldest of four, Fay graduated South Division High School and went on to raise four lively sons as a hard-working mother who held various factory jobs, including at Accudyne in Janesville.

Fay had a big heart and feisty spirit, and she was always in the mood for a little salty humor and a good laugh. She had experienced her share of adversity, and spoke candidly about the role of her religious faith. She enjoyed a variety of craft pursuits such as jewelry making and florals, and equally enjoyed the thrill of the hunt when going out thrifting. Fay treasured her sentimental family photo displays, as they reflected her pride in all things family. Her great-niece Celine, of whom she became legal guardian, brought Fay all manner of joy throughout the last decades of her life.

Fay leaves behind a multitude of dear family members: her sons Bryan (Deborah) Simon, Mark (Denise) Simon, and Jeff Tischer; her great-niece Celine; her sister Yvonne (Pete) Jaeckel; her grandchildren Nick (Heidi) Simon, Connor (Krystal) Simon, Hannah (Nick) Dion-Kirschner, Sophie Dion-Kirschner, Nicole Simon, Hunter Simon, Isabel Tischer, Milana Tischer, Christian Tischer, Autumn Tischer, and Amber Tischer; great-grandchildren Phoebe, Wyatt, Emmett and Vivian Simon, Cass, Gawain, Thor and Ciaran Simon, and Theadore and Elijah Simon; her niece Anna Richards, her niece Michelle and nephews Neal and Josh Jaeckel; and her great-nephew Jason Richards. In the hereafter Fay has now reunited with those loved ones who had predeceased her; her son Todd, her mother RoseMary, and her partner Gary Reeves.

Private burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin.
