Flora Lee Grasman

Flora Lee Grasman, 94, of Greendale, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026.

Flora was born in Eagleville, Tennessee, to the late Edd and Julia (Morris) Ghee. Raised on a farm, Flora developed a lifelong love of animals and the simple joys of country life. She was the oldest of seven children and was especially close to her twin sister, Cora.

Flora attended Belmont College and graduated in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse, a career she continued until her retirement in 1997. Even after retirement, “once a nurse, always a nurse”. Her caring nature and dedication to helping others remained an important part of who she was throughout her life.

Flora married Thomas Grasman, and they shared 52 years together before his passing in 2006. Together they built a loving family and created many cherished memories.

Flora enjoyed traveling, participating in a golf league, spending time with family and friends, gardening, and, of course, animals. She will be remembered for her caring heart, kindness toward others, loving spirit, determination, and unwavering dedication to the people she loved.

Flora is survived by her children, Thomas Kurt, Lillian (Michael) Valerio, Beatrice, and Vikki (Dale) Bass; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and caring for her. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas as well as her brothers and sisters.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Allay Hospice, especially Monica, Chloe, Elizabeth, Tia, Lauren, and Kristy, for their compassion and support. An extra-special thank you goes to the wonderful staff at Harbor Village Assisted Living for the exceptional care they provided to Flora, including Maurice, Katie, Monique, Samantha, Peggy, Debbie, Barb, and Becky. Your kindness, patience, and care meant so much to Flora and her family.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Max A. Sass Greenridge Chapel (4747 S 60th St., Greenfield) from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 4:00 PM. Burial will take place on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Greenfield at 9:00 AM. Please use Edgerton Avenue to access the funeral home and cemetery, 60th Street and Layton Avenue are currently under construction.
