Frank J. Erdmann was born 6/8/1953 and died 4/14/2026. He was preceded in death by his father Doug, brother Doug, mother Joan, and stepfather Bernie. He is survived by his sister Donna (Jiggs), his children Brad (Abby), Ryan, Jill (Sam), Mary (Chris), Shane (Dawn), and grandchildren Conner, Tessa, Will, Scarlett, and Sebastian, nieces Gail and Tammy (Rick), as well as many cousins and a lifetime of friends.
He was a man known by many and loved by all.
Frank—or “Frankie,” as many affectionately called him—dedicated much of his life to Horner Plumbing, where he worked from 1972 until 2013. He spent many years in the field as a plumber and later moved into the office, where he ran the service department until his retirement. He met many lifelong friends throughout his career at Horner Plumbing, and some friends who eventually became family.
Even in retirement, Frank didn’t slow down. He spent time cutting the greens at Lake Beulah Country Club and working at Medinger Repair Shop. He truly loved staying busy and being around people.
Frank was deeply involved in his community. He was an active member of the Lions Club since 1990, where he spent many years helping organize the car show and Mukwonago Lion Summerfeste. He was also a proud member of the American Legion since 2013. He valued the camaraderie, the friendships, and the sense of community that came with it—and it showed in everything he did.
Those who knew Frank know he never missed a party… and more often than not, he was the life of the party wherever he went. He never passed up a chance to get on the dance floor. Whether he was doing the sprinkler, the lawnmower, the shopping cart, or his infamous “cockroach”, he brought so much joy and laughter to those moments. That was just who he was—fun, carefree, and full of life.
He was larger than life. The kind of person who seemed to know someone everywhere he went—and if he didn’t, he would by the time he left.
At his core, he was a big kid—playful, lighthearted, and full of wonder. That spirit never left him, and it’s what made being around him so special.
Frank loved cars, especially his 1969 Chevelle, which he was always proud to show. He enjoyed many summers attending car shows with his friends and family.
In his younger years, he played the drums. He still liked to show off those skills and never missed an opportunity to drum along on whatever surface was nearby—especially a car dashboard. He could also play a mean air guitar and would often encourage others to pick up an air instrument and play along with him.
No matter where he went, Frank made friends. Instantly. Effortlessly. That was just who he was.
He will be missed beyond measure.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20th, at Max A. Sass - Mission Hills Chapel - 8910 W Drexel Ave. Franklin, WI 53132 from 3:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm.
A celebration of life will be held in summer…because we all know Frank loved a good party.
