Georgene F. Zabkowicz

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Georgene F. Zabkowicz, who left us on March 18, 2026 and is now rejoined with her loving husband Thomas of 53 years. Born on May 22, 1952, Georgene graced this world with a spirit that touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege to know her.

Georgene was the embodiment of generosity and kindness, known as the most generous person one could hope to meet. Her grandchildren, Logan and Dominic (Rose), were the radiant light of her world, bringing her endless joy and love. Always going out of her way to help others, Georgene's heart was as vast as her deeds, and many neighbors fondly remember her warmth and readiness to lend a hand whenever life called for it.

Her home was filled with scents and flavors lovingly made by her hands—her passion for cooking was unmatched, and she was especially known for creating “magic potatoes” that will be fondly remembered by all who tasted them. Gardening brought her peace and delight, a reflection of her nurturing nature, while traveling was a source of cherished memories, particularly trips to the “sisters” cottage tucked away in the northern woods and adventurous journeys to the casino.

Surrounded by a loving family, Georgene's life was shared joyfully with her children and siblings. She is survived by her siblings Christine (Ken), Kathy (the late Ronald), Donna (the late John), Glenn, Gail (Chris), and Todd; her beloved child Mark; sisters-in-law Patty and Angie; and brothers-in-law Marty (Bonnie) and Jake (Providence). Her great-grandchildren, Reiki and Rain, carried forward her legacy of love along with her cherished goddaughter Sara. Special friends Rosie P. and Angie B., alongside many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends, held a special place in her heart and now carry forward the memories of her kindness and spirit.

Georgene was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and George, and her siblings Sharon (Thomas), Cyndy (Kim), Gary, and Greg. Their memories live on within the hearts of those who loved her deeply.

A visitation to honor and remember Georgene’s life will be held on April 6, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral and Cremation Greenridge Chapel, located at 4747 S. 60th Street, Greenfield, WI 53220. Following the visitation, a memorial service will begin at 5:00 PM and conclude at 5:30 PM at the same location.

Georgene’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, generosity, and unforgettable moments. She touched so many souls with her kindness and left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know her. Though we say goodbye, the essence of her spirit will forever breathe in the gardens she tended, the kitchens she filled with love, and the hearts she held so dearly. She will be profoundly missed, treasured always, and lovingly remembered.
