Gloria J. (Schaefer) Kossow, age 89, of Greenfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Born on October 6, 1936, Gloria was the beloved daughter of the late Oscar and Laura (Wolf) Schaefer. She devoted her life to her family as a homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home where everyone felt loved and cared for. Known throughout the neighborhood as “Ma Koss,” Gloria was often the neighborhood mom, always ready with a kind word, a helping hand, and genuine concern for others.

Gloria had a caring and loving heart. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured time spent with her family, especially the little ones. She found great joy in being a grandmother and creating lasting memories with those she loved most.

She enjoyed many simple pleasures in life, including baking, dining out, playing bingo, trying her luck with the lottery, and visiting Potawatomi Casino. Gloria was also a devoted Elvis fan and could often be found enjoying his music. She took great pride in keeping a beautiful home and was known for her strong family values, loving nature, and caring spirit. Though she was known to worry about those she loved, it was always a reflection of the deep love she carried for her family and friends.

Gloria is lovingly survived by her son, Scott (JoAnn) Kossow; her grandchildren, Ryan Kossow, Danielle (Todd Farnham) Kossow, and Joe (Katherine) Kossow; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Elijah, Abigail, and Addison. She is further survived by her niece and nephews, Pam Stark, Gary Stark, and Scott Schaefer, along with many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Kossow; her son, Mark Kossow; her brother, Kenneth Schaefer; and her sister-in-law, Nancy Stark.
