Gloria Lorraine Tadych, a beacon of love and joy, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, in Milwaukee, WI, at the age of 91. Born on June 16, 1933, in Escanaba, MI, Gloria was the cherished daughter of the late Edwin and the late Elizabeth Mc Gillis, and the beloved stepdaughter of Mary Mc Gillis.
Gloria's life was a testament to the enduring power of love and family. She was the devoted wife of the late John L. Tadych Jr., with whom she shared a beautiful marriage that began on November 24, 1951, at St. Helen's Parish. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, kindness, and an endless stream of cherished memories.
A proud mother, Gloria's legacy lives on through her adoring children: Barbara (the late Doug) Hughes of Arizona, John III (Dolly) Tadych, Kathleen (Bruce) Losinski, Robert Tadych, Linda (Peter) Van Dinter, Sharon (Phil) Lentz, and Michael Tadych Sr. She was the doting grandmother and great-grandmother to many, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Gloria was a sister and friend to many, including her late sisters Joyce Young and Shirley Caron, her surviving sisters Jean Sexton and Janet (George) Chaulklin of Texas. She was also a loving sibling to Mike McGillis and Nancy. Her extended family included her relationships as a sister-in-law to the late Lenny Tadych, the late Lorraine (the late Larry) Ohlinger, Rosalie (Roger) Kopplin, the late Marian (the late Richard) Tadych, and Mike (the late Beatrice) Oleshky. Gloria also held a special place in her heart as the godmother to Sheila Knepprath, Mark Young, and Cindy Mc Gillis of Escanaba, MI. She will be fondly remembered by other relatives and many friends.
Throughout her life, Gloria embraced her role as a homemaker with grace and dedication, creating a warm and welcoming home for all who entered. Her proud Irish descent was a cornerstone of her identity, infusing her life with a vibrant cultural heritage that she loved to share with others.
Gloria's interests were as colorful and varied as her personality. She had an artistic soul that found joy in coloring, a pastime that brought her peace and happiness. Her love for playing bingo was well-known among friends and family, as were her musical talents in singing. Gloria's taste in music was a reflection of her roots and her spirit, with a particular fondness for Irish and country tunes.
In her later years, Gloria discovered a new delight in getting her nails done, a simple pleasure that brought her much delight. Her love for stickers was another quirky trait that those close to her will fondly remember. Reflecting on her earlier years, Gloria cherished the memories of fishing with her late husband and the lively BBQs at the lake, surrounded by the laughter and love of family.
Gloria's life was a beautiful mosaic of the people she loved, the joys she embraced, and the simple pleasures that enriched her days. She will be remembered as a woman of strength, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to her family. Her bright smile, hearty laughter, and the love she generously gave will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 6, 2025 from 10:00 Am until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Max A Sass – Oklahoma Chapel – 1515 W. Oklahoma Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53215. Interment to follow at St. Adalberts Cemetery.
