Entered God's loving arms on Friday August 7, 2026 at the age of 97. Beloved wife of Paul for 70 years. Loving mom of Diane (Robert) Duddy, Debbie (Terry) Bernander, Nancy (Larry) Redlich and Dan (Teresa) Freiert. Proud grandma of Jennifer (Tom) Murray, Lauren Redlich, T.J. (Mary) Bernander, Grace (Tyler) Pomroy, Lisa (Gardner Waterman) Redlich, Tyler (Emily) Duddy, Paul (Caylyn) Freiert, Alec (Allie Fuentez) Redlich and David (Sara) Freiert. Dear great-grandma of Savannah Murray, Dahlia Murray, Tucker Murray, Miles Duddy, Trey Bernander, Max Bernander, Willa Duddy, Elsa Murray, Luke Bernander, Charlie Freiert, and Margot Freiert. Further survived by her sisters Beverly Anderson and Kathy Johnson and other relatives and friends.
Born on May 29,1929 to Elmer and Helen Hill in Minneapolis MN , joining her older sister Beverly. The family grew to 7 when siblings Dorothy, Kathy and Ken were born.
Her talent for playing the piano started at age 13 when the family got a piano. It was discovered Gwen could play any song she heard without music and she continued using this God given talent until just this past May 2026 still playing for an audience each Sunday morning at her residence.
Gwen met Paul Freiert at church at age 14. They never dated anyone else and got married February 24 1951.
Gwen graduated from vocational high school in 1947 where she prepared for office work as a career. She used these skills often working in church offices.
Gwen was very involved in church ministries and missions trips and loved these activities while being devoted to her family.
Gwen had many adventures and a close walk with God and she wrote her entire life story for her family to treasure.
Family and friends are invited to honor Gwendolyn's life and legacy at the Visitation on August 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Discover Church, located at 7311 South 13th Street, Oak Creek. The Funeral Service will follow at the same location at 2:00 PM. Burial will take place on August 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Southern Wisconsin Veterans memorial Cemetery, located at 21731 Spring St, Union Grove, WI 53182.
