James E. Laux

James E. Laux, of Franklin, Wisconsin, passed away on August 24, 2026, in Milwaukee at the age of 93. He was born on June 30, 1933, in Clintonville, Wisconsin to Rudolph and Loretta Laux.

James built a long and steady career as a buyer at Shadbolt and Boyd in Milwaukee, where he worked for more than 30 years. He was also a devoted Wisconsin sports fan who especially loved Milwaukee Brewers baseball. His faith in Jesus remained an important part of his life. He was a longtime member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church and had previously been a member of Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church.

Above all, James will be remembered by those who knew and loved him as a family man. He is survived by his sons, James S. Laux and his wife, CathyAnn, of Milwaukee, Wisconisn, and John Laux and his wife, Christine, of Boerne, Texas. He was a proud grandfather to Matthew Laux of Germantown, Wisconsin, Jessica (Justin Schelshammer) Laux of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, Jacob Laux of Los Angeles, California, and Jared Laux and his wife, Nerissa, of San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by his dear friend, Delores Skarban, whose friendship was a meaningful part of his life.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Laux.

Burial with a graveside service will take place on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, 614 East Howard Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53207. His son the Rev. John Laux will lead the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Franklin, Wisconsin.

James E. Laux will be remembered with love for his dedication to family, his years of faithful work, his commitment to church, and the enjoyment he found in cheering on his beloved Brewers. His memory will remain a blessing to all who knew him.
