In Loving Memory of Jane F. Kirchgessner

Jane F. Kirchgessner (nee Thomas) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on January 14, 2026, at the age of 74. She was the beloved wife of David Kirchgessner for 53 years and the dearly beloved daughter-in-law of Joan Kirchgessner, age 94. Jane was a devoted and loving mother to Kari Jane Barnes, Kristi Anne (Matthew) Fenske, and Kathryn Marie Kirchgessner. She was a cherished grandmother to Logan Barnes, Sawyer Barnes, Declan Barnes, Matthew Fenske, and Breanna Fenske. Jane is further survived by numerous loved relatives and dear friends, all of whom will miss her deeply.

Jane had a special connection with animals, whether it was dogs, cats, rabbits, birds or guinea pigs, and, yes, even goats. It was clear that they loved her just as much as she loved them. She had many friends from the various activities in her life, whether from her work as a Physical Therapist, to her daughters’ school and sporting events, to her Body Pump exercise classes at the Y, to her Bunco Babes card group. Music and dancing brought her great joy, and she was also known for her exceptional cooking skills, which she shared generously with those around her. It would be remiss to fail to mention her great love of chocolate. She was a good swimmer and loved spending time fishing and boating with her dad and mom and family on Wisconsin lakes.

Jane’s smile could light up any room, and her presence was always warm and inviting. She was a loving, kind, and supportive person, known for her quick wit and selflessness. From an early age, Jane knew she wanted to help others, and she dedicated herself to doing just that. Her loyalty and compassion touched the lives of many. Jane’s legacy is one of kindness, joy, and unwavering support for those she loved.

A Visitation will be held at Corpus Christi-St. Mary Church (225 S. Hartwell Ave., Waukesha) on Saturday, January 24th from 10-11:45AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon.
