Joan Merry Krause

Joan Merry Krause passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, on December 17, 2025 at the age of 89, one week short of her birthday on Christmas Day. 

Daughter of Edward and Lorraine Kaczmarek. Joanie had a sassy sense of humor and a loving heart. 

A graduate of Saint Mary's Academy (1953) was a previous board member who stayed involved with alumnae activities including luncheons and outings.

Her hobbies included baking, bowling and camping. Joan and Russ enjoyed camping, making many friends and memories for over 25 years. She baked delicious treats which she graciously shared with everyone. She bowled in many leagues, including a couples' league started by her and her husband for 54 years, as well as City, State and National Tournaments. She bowled her last game at the age of 87.

Joan was preceded in death by her loving husband Russell H. Krause (2024) after 65 years of marriage. She is survived by her loving children Katherine (Jim) Glover and Steven (Becky). 

Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Max Sass Funeral Home - Greenridge Chapel on Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 11 AM until time of service at 1 PM. Burial will be private at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.
