After a courageous battle with cancer Joan joined her parents Marion and John Striebel and brother Robert Striebel in Heaven on October 21, 2018 at age 72. She is lovingly survived by her husband David LaBarr for 52 years. Beloved mother of Kelly LaBarr, Kim (Patrick) Forrest, David (Kellie) LaBarr and Carrie LaBarr. Proud grandma of Brendan Forrest, Anna Forrest, Zach LaBarr and Emma LaBarr. Dear sister in law of Linda Anderson. She will be loved, remembered and missed by all who knew her. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother Joan was a dedicated employee at Milwaukee County doing bookkeeping. She prepared taxes for more than 20 years as an enrolled tax agent (EA) at Klein Tax Services. Together, David and Joan enjoyed camping at Nature's Villa in Helenville, WI where they created many friendships with other campers. Family and friends are welcome to gather at St. Martin of Tours Church (7963 S 116th St, Franklin, WI 53132) on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 10:30-11:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon. Private interment at Southern Wisconsin Veteran Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the American Cancer Society.
