John Thomas Broderick, affectionately known as Tom, passed away on August 31, 2026, in Greendale. He was born on the east side of Milwaukee, May 7, 1941.

Tom will be remembered for a life rooted in dedication, family, and the communities he loved. He spent 30 years as a teacher with Milwaukee Public Schools, a career that reflected his steady commitment to others and to the work of guiding young people. He was also a life member of the South Shore Yacht Club, a place that remained close to his heart and where he especially enjoyed spending his time.

Among Tom’s greatest joys and proudest accomplishments was his 64 years of marriage, a lasting testament to love, devotion, and partnership. That enduring bond stood at the center of a life richly shared.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Mayer; his son, Michael Broderick and Michael’s wife, Michelle; and his twin daughters, Jessica Wozniak and her husband, Andy, and Danielle Johnston and her husband, Rob. He is Papa to Erin, Keira, Kailey, Nolan, Megyn, and Ryan. Tom is further survived by his sister, Bernice “Kookie” Russell, his brother, Dennis Broderick, and his sister, Patricia Kitzke. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on September 8, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral and Cremation Mission Hills Chapel, 8910 W. Drexel Avenue, Franklin, Wisconsin 53132. A Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Parish, 6060 West Loomis Road, Greendale, Wisconsin 53129. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, St. Francis.

Tom's family would like to extend special thank you to the Vitas Hospice workers, particularly James and the staff at Eden Vista for all of your care and support.

In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated in Tom's name to the Boys and Girls club of Greater Milwaukee or the Junior Sailing School at South Shore Yacht Club.
