John Edward Dobogai Jr., beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away at home in Franklin, Wisconsin, on July 21, 2026. Born on October 14, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, John spent 84 years leaving a mark of warmth, wisdom, and steadfast love upon all who knew him.

He was the cherished son of the late Betty Wunder and John Dobogai Sr., and held their memory close throughout his life. From his earliest days in Milwaukee, John cultivated a life of dedication—to family, service, community, and personal passions.

John was devoted to his loving wife, Panagiota "Gloria" Poulis, who stood by his side with unwavering support. Together, they built a blended family defined by resilience, laughter, and shared traditions. John is survived by his children—Deborah Scheer, Jason Poulakos, Michael Dobogai, Kurt Faes, Deborah Horner, John Dobogai III, Sarah Robles, and Jessica Lewandowski. He also leaves behind his dear siblings, Ruby Texler, Evelyn Motley, and Jerry Dobogai, who treasured the bonds they shared.

Throughout his life, John found immense fulfillment in his career, enjoying his work in tax preparation and financial planning. Colleagues and clients alike respected his keen intellect, dedication, and integrity—qualities that guided him in both professional and personal spheres.

Among John's proudest accomplishments was his honorable service in the United States Air Force, an experience that instilled in him deep pride and a sense of purpose. He served his country with the same steadfastness he brought to every aspect of his life.

Outside of work and service, John found joy in the outdoors. He held a true passion for hunting, fishing, and black powder shooting—pastimes that offered peace and camaraderie. Time spent with family was especially precious, and some of John’s happiest moments were teaching his grandchildren to fish, passing on both skill and the beauty of quiet patience. Fond memories also remain of evenings spent dancing with Gloria, savoring music and laughter together.

As he is remembered by all who love him, John’s legacy is reflected in the kindness he offered freely, the wisdom he shared, and the devotion he showed to family and friends.

John is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Betty Wunder and John Dobogai Sr., whose memory he carried forward.
