John Joseph Saltz, 97, formerly of West Allis, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, at his home in Watertown.
Survived by his 3 children Cynthia (Tim deceased) Klug, Bonita (Carl) Wendel, and Gary (Brenda) Saltz. Grandchildren Crystal (Steven) Evans, Hannah (Matthew) Graves, Jared Saltz and Paige Saltz. Great granddaughters Lillian Evans, Josephine Evans and Dorothy Graves.
Born on Mary 11, 1929, in Daggett Michigan, to the late Frank and Angeline Saltz he was born and raised on the farm with his 9 siblings. He is survived by 3 sisters Helen Raboin, Alice Fredrickson and Verna Doering. He is further survived by his brother-in-law Jack (Rita) Kaczmarek. Uncle Johnny is also survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, as well as many good friends.
John served his country during the Korean War in the air Force. He met his beloved wife Carol (nee Kaczmarek) at her Grandfather’s funeral and were married June 2, 1956. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2020.
John resided in the family home for 70 years at Conger Place and remained lifelong friends with many of the neighbors, especially the Gewalt family: Mary Schmidt, Pam Lausman and Paul Gewalt.
Visitation will take place on Friday October 30, 2026, 9:30 AM -11:30 AM at St. Matthias Church 9306 West Beloit Road with Catholic Mass following. John requests no flowers or memorials. Plant a perennial flower or take your family out to dinner in his remembrance. You may want to put polish sausage on the menu.
