John's education at Boy Tech High School, where he graduated in 1953, laid the foundation for his admirable work ethic. Soon after, he began his career with AT&T as a lineman at the tender age of 17. His commitment to the company was unwavering, and he retired in 1993 after a long and respected career. Even after retirement, John's desire to contribute to society remained strong. He was an active member of the AT&T Pioneers, a volunteer network that allowed him to engage in various community service activities.
His interests were diverse and always centered on bringing happiness to others. His generous spirit led him to participate in fundraisers for hearing-impaired children and for the restoration of the Statue of Liberty, showcasing his deep care for others and his patriotic spirit.
John also had a strong connection to his local community, exemplified by his dedication to collecting recycling in Waterford for seven years, ushering at Immaculate Heart of Mary in West Allis for many years, and being a greeter at St. Thomas Aquinas in Waterford, WI. His love for nature was evident in his hobbies, which included planting geraniums and feeding the birds, activities that brought beauty to the world and a smile to those who knew him. Described as a great hugger, John's warmth was felt by everyone he embraced.
Those who knew John best would describe him as loving, friendly, and generous. His kindness was a beacon that drew people to him, and his generosity knew no bounds. John's ability to make friends wherever he went spoke volumes about his approachable and affable nature.
