John Martin Trojanowski, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on February 4, 2026, in his hometown of Milwaukee, at the age of 55. Born on July 30, 1970, in Milwaukee, John lived a life marked by devotion to his family, a passion for the outdoors, and a career dedicated to the enrichment of his beloved city.
John's legacy begins with his loving family, who were the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Carrie, with whom he built a life full of love and adventure. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Michael, Nicholas, and Jamie Trojanowski, who will carry forward his spirit of passion and integrity. John was a brother to Mark (Kathy), Scott (Sue), Jeff, Susie (Mark) Robinson, MaryJo (Ray) Schaefer, Amy Trojanowski, and the late James “Jamie” Trojanowski. He was also a cherished member of the extended family, including his parents-in-law, Mike (the late Diane) Kopaczewski, his sister-in-law, Susie (Todd) Clark; his uncle, the late David (the late Virginia) Frankowski, and his cousins Tim (Sue), Greg (Jan), Gary, and the late Todd Frankowski.
John's early years were marked by his graduation from Milwaukee Hamilton class of 1988, after which he embarked on a fulfilling career as an arborist with the City of Milwaukee Forestry Department, a role he lovingly served for 35 years. His dedication to nurturing the city's green spaces reflected his deep connection to nature and his commitment to community service.
John found joy in simple pleasures, such as cheering on Wisconsin sports teams with his sons and being the biggest fan at the kids’ sporting events. Camping trips, family adventures to the property in Tomahawk, and heartwarming family get-togethers were among his most treasured moments.
John was very proud of his children and their accomplishments, always offering support and love in all their endeavors. His immediate and extended family felt the warmth of his love, and he held a special place in his heart for his family dogs, Josie and the late Jessie, who were his loyal companions.
Those who knew John would describe him as loving, opinionated, and passionate. He embraced life with a vibrant spirit and a heart full of love for those around him. His presence was a comfort, his laughter contagious, and his guidance invaluable.
John is preceded in death by his dear sibling, the late James “Jamie” Trojanowski, and his parents, the late Donald Trojanowski and the late Dolores (the late Earl) Luedtke Formally Trojanowski. He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be cherished by nieces and nephews, including Dawn (Dan) Williamson, Ken (Amy Jo) Paddock, Lori (Gary) Everly, Lindsay Robinson, Stacey Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Ben (Anna) Schaefer, Michael Schaefer, Nathan Schaefer, Sawyer (Brooke) Schaefer, Troy Schaefer, Mikayla Schaefer, Sara (Eric) Stanenas, Timothy (Jaydee) O'mera, Riley Clark, and Aiden Clark.
