John R. Zanotelli of Muskego, WI passed away peacefully on February 15th, 2026, at the age of 70, surrounded by his loving family. John was a devoted father to Mike (Christie) Zanotelli, Matt Zanotelli, and Christine (Jermey) Piper. John was also a proud grandfather to Lee and Malcolm. He is survived by his dear brother Bob (Kathy) Zanotelli and sister Judy VanderHeyden. In addition, he leaves behind cherished nieces, nephews, and other relatives, as well as many close friends. John loved his family deeply and felt immense pride for his children.
John had a deep love and appreciation for the outdoors. He found great joy in fishing, which was one of his favorite pastimes. After retiring, John dedicated much of his time to being outside and landscaping and took pride in transforming his yard. He enjoyed being able to share this all with his children and grandchildren.
John enjoyed his life and always loved sharing stories of the experiences he had. He had a unique quality of being able to talk with everyone and loved making others laugh. He used his strength of humor and connection to build relationships with others everywhere he went.
Family and friends are invited to gather and honor John’s memory during a Celebration of Life that will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons—Westwood Chapel, located at W173 S7629 Westwood Dr., Muskego, WI on Saturday, February 28th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. All who knew John are welcome to attend and share their memories, as we come together to celebrate a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's name would be appreciated to the Cherish Wisconsin Outdoors Fund (https://wisconservation.networkforgood.com/projects/207217-cherish-wisconsin-outdoors-fund).
John will be remembered as a hardworking, persistent, loving, funny, and thoughtful man, who always tried his best and didn’t give up.
