Joseph E. "Joe" Bogdan, age 46, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Born on September 22, 1979, in West Allis, Wisconsin.
Joe was a proud graduate of Greendale High School, Class of 1998, and later earned an Associate’s Degree from Bryant & Stratton College. Throughout his career, he obtained numerous certifications related to electrical equipment and technology. His remarkable understanding of machinery and electronics, combined with his natural aptitude for problem-solving, allowed him to excel in the technology field. Joe worked as a Field Engineer for Burroughs, where he was highly respected and admired for his extensive electrical knowledge, technical expertise, and dedication to his work.
Above all else, family meant everything to Joe. He was fiercely independent, stubborn at times, loving, generous, and possessed a truly sweet soul. Those who knew him will remember his willingness to help others, his loyalty, and the deep care he showed to those he loved.
Joe had a passion for fantasy gaming and storytelling. He found great joy in Live Action Role Playing (LARP), Dungeons & Dragons, and tabletop role-playing games. He was also a longtime attendee of Midwinter Gaming Convention, where he enjoyed sharing his hobbies and connecting with fellow enthusiasts.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Janice & Paul Barnett; his brothers, Alexander (Kelli) Bogdan and Richard (Cara Baker) Bogdan; his nephews and niece, Brent (Ariel) Bogdan, Caleb Bogdan, Davin Bogdan, and Brenna Baker; his best friend, John Paul (Mindy) Twardowski and his father, David Bogdan. He is further survived by other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
Joe was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jean and John Fedor, and his paternal grandparents, Edward and Audrey Bogdan.
Visitation on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the MAX A. SASS & SONS GREENRIDGE CHAPEL (4747 S 60th Street, Greenfield) from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milwaukee.
