Joseph “Joey” Kopecky passed away on August 10, 2026, at the age of 66, following a prolonged illness. He was reunited with his beloved parents, Joseph G. and Elaine Kopecky.

Joey was the loving Brother of Diane (Steven) Fahsel and William (Kari) Kopecky. He was a dear Uncle of Kyle (Stacie), Sam, Caitlyn, Ryan, and Lauren, and a proud Great-Uncle of Everett and Marin. He is further survived by other relatives and dear friends.

He was a proud graduate of UW-Milwaukee and took great pride in his long career in the plastics industry.

Joey was one of the most genuine, caring, and generous people you could ever meet. He was a selfless person and a good friend. He had a kind heart and was always willing to help others. His nieces and nephews held a very special place in his heart, and he would do anything for them. He was their biggest supporter and their No. 1 fan, always cheering them on and taking pride in their accomplishments.

Joey was an excellent bowler and proudly achieved many 300 games throughout the years. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite teams. Some of his happiest memories were made during family vacations, especially the nine trips he took to Disney. These special times with family brought him great joy and created memories that will be cherished forever.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caring doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Luke’s Medical Center for the compassion and exceptional care given to Joey.

Visitation will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons-Mission Hills Chapel, 8910 W. Drexel Ave., Franklin, on Saturday, August 22, from 10:00 AM until the time of family eulogies at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Joey’s name would be appreciated to the American Diabetes Association.
