Joseph Torcivia

Joseph Peter Torcivia Jr. was born to eternal life on September 11, 2026, at the young age of 52, after fighting a courageous, 14 year battle with brain cancer. Joe was a one-of-a kind person who lived every second of his life to the fullest. Even as a small child, he wasn’t happy unless he was busy.

Joe was an extremely hard worker and held a variety of jobs throughout his life.

At the center of Joe’s life was his faith and his love of Jesus.

There were just a few other things that were essential for Joe’s happiness.

Music. Joe loved most kinds of music. He really enjoyed going to concerts. His favorite group was Metallica. Unfortunately, Joe bid us farewell before Metallica got to perform at Camp Randall as part of their farewell tour. Rest assured, Joe will be rocking from his heavenly home.

Pizza and Ice Cream. The order of ranking is questionable but he would’ve eaten both of them every day, any time of the day.

Halloween. This was his favorite holiday. He loved the costumes, decorations, haunted houses, scary movies, and thoroughly enjoyed scaring a young Trey and Lexi at their Halloween parties.

Church Festivals. Food, music, people, what’s not to like?

Joe will be missed by his loving parents, Joe and Mary Jo (Boyce) Torcivia, his sister, Angela (Steve) Long, his brothers, Jim (Monica)Torcivia and Mike Torcivia, Aunt JoAnne (Rick) Strauss, Aunt Mary Torcivia, Uncle Tom Pokrandt and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was blessed with many friendships that went far and beyond ordinary friendships. Meagan and Alonzo were his longtime, fun, do-anything for him friends that were with him through it all. Joe was the honorary, funcle to Trey and Lexi.

Maggie met Joe while she was running on a treadmill at the WAC and they stayed great friends until the very end.

Sarah, Marc and Brian met Joe at Bible Study. Joe did some landscaping for them and they eventually became close friends and were a tremendous support to him throughout his journey.

Gregg Treep and Gregg Larson have been loyal friends since high school.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Linden Grove,(New Berlin) especially Lois and Lisa, for the love, care and kindness you showed Joe during his final days. You made his days the best they could be. Most importantly, you made him smile. For that, we will be forever grateful.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Auxano Church, 14625 W. Watertown Plank Road, Elm Grove, with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM.
