Judith Carol Holcomb, a cherished mother, grandmother, and devoted seamstress, passed away peacefully in hospice on June 8, 2026, in West Allis, Wisconsin. Born on October 19, 1942, in Shorewood, Wisconsin, Judith’s life was marked by a steadfast dedication to her family, her craft, and her community.
Judith’s early years in Shorewood laid the foundation for a life rich in learning and creativity. She graduated from Shorewood High School in 1960 and went on to study Home Economics and Art at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 1965.
Her career was diverse and marked by dedication. Judith was self-employed as a seamstress from 1987 until her passing, a role through which she expressed her talent and helped countless clients bring their visions to life. Prior to this, she contributed her skills in customer service at Catholic Family Life Insurance, as well as at Scott Paper Company from 1981 to 1986. Between 1995 and 1998, Judith also worked at BDO Seidman Accounting Firm, where she performed general office work with diligence.
A woman of many interests, Judith delighted in old television shows and maintained connections through Facebook. Above all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren—Nat Holcomb, Carissa and Rachel Rivera and Everett and Avery Holcomb—whose presence brought her great joy. Her love for music was exemplified during a memorable outing to a Paul McCartney concert with her son Brad, a highlight among many treasured family moments. She was also a devoted fan of The Beatles, their timeless melodies echoing her vibrant spirit.
Among her proudest achievements was winning a family trip to the Bahamas through a contest, creating lasting memories with those she loved most.
Judith is survived by her loving children: Brad Holcomb and his wife Karla, Heather Rivera and her husband Jason and Zach Holcomb and his wife Jesselle. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and creativity treasured by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Leonard Gallett, by her sister Bonnie Plotkin and by her former spouse and friend Thomas Holcomb.
A burial service to honor Judith’s life will be held on June 15, 2026, at Wauwatosa Cemetery, located at 2405 Wauwatosa Ave, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. The service will begin at 1:00 PM. The family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date this summer.
