June Marie Swenson, a spirited and beloved matriarch, passed away on March 10, 2026, in Muskego, Wisconsin, at the age of 91. Born on June 26, 1934, in Mena, Arkansas, June's zest for life was evident from an early age. She made her mark as a vivacious individual who could light up any room with her feisty nature and unwavering energy.
June was known for her love of the holidays, eagerly hosting gatherings that became cherished memories for her family. Many joyous occasions unfolded in the company of her loved ones up north, where laughter and love filled the air. The special outings she shared with her daughters for birthday margaritas became a treasured tradition, showcasing her ability to celebrate life's moments with grace and flair.
With a passion for life, June was always on the move, exuding a magnetic personality that drew people in. Her love of dancing knew no bounds; whether it was tap dancing, polka, or jitterbug, she always found joy and connection on the dance floor. She took pride in her social engagements, remaining actively involved with the Franklin Seniors and relishing trips to the casino, as well as adventuring on cruises. Her travels to Arizona to visit her sister held a special place in her heart, allowing her to maintain close family bonds.
Not one to shy away from creativity, June had a talent for flower arrangements, and ceramics. She channeled her artistry into sewing, where she lovingly crafted clothes for her children. Whether it was around the dining table or while crafting beautiful creations, her nurturing spirit routinely shone through, making everyday moments extraordinary.
June leaves behind a vibrant legacy woven through the lives of her loving family. She is survived by her devoted children: John, Michael (Grace), Dale (Cathy), Kathleen, Lawrence (Susan), Therese, and Christopher. Her cherished grandchildren include Steven, Patrick, Michael (Eve), Janette (Joseph), Shana, Nicole, Marty, David, Jessica, Jeremy (Karyn), Eric, and Sara, alongside 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, who will forever carry forward her spirit.
Although there is great sorrow in her passing, June is reunited with her beloved husband, John, her sister Dawn, and her sister Barbara, who have welcomed her with open arms.
A visitation to celebrate June's remarkable life will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral and Cremation Mission Hills Chapel in Franklin, WI, on March 30, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI, following a burial at 2:00 PM.
June Marie Swenson's life was a testament to the beauty of family, friendships, and a passion for living fully. Her vibrant spirit will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, joy, and strength will continue to inspire all who knew her.
